AMA Pro Supersport racer Alex Guilbeault has resigned an old sponsor and picked up a new one for his 2012 race season. Although he says his 2011 season didn’t e quite as planned, he is ready to resume his racing program next season with a little help from some new and old sponsors.
Shoei Helmets has resigned on for another year with the number 32 out of New Hampshire. Shoei was a part of the racing program in 2011 and Alex is happy to have them back. “I switched to Shoei this year and it’s good. The best thing is that you don’t see the top of the helmet when you put it on. That’s the best feature. I really like all the vents on it too. I’ve always had a problem with the vents where they’re either in the front or on the top and usually I keep them shut to keep stuff from blowing in. But with Shoei, they have them in the back too.”
New to the program is a family friend Norm Depeau out of San Jose, California. “He has been a family friend for years. He has always been helping me with setting up my resume and things like that but now he is stepping up and helping out a lot! He’s going to help with basically whatever we need like tires. He wants to come and help out too at Daytona. The plan is to do East Coast AMA rounds but with the new sponsor being out in San Jose, he wants us to come out and do Laguna Seca too.”
Alex just entered the AMA in 2011 but takes his pro career seriously. As with any privateer racer, sponsorships are always welcome and Alex says he can offer any potential sponsors whatever they need from him as a rider. This young gun is willing to put himself out there, promote the sponsor and represent them well. If you were looking for someone to sponsor in the AMA, Alex is no new guy to accomplishment and is looking forward to progressing much more in 2012.
Be sure to check Alex and all his race achievements out!
