AMA Pro Road Racer Tommy Aquino has signed on for the last two rounds of the CEV Buckler Spanish Championship, as well as for a test at Valencia October 24th and 25th. Tommy will be joining Team Wilmax Racing alongside Dan Linfoot out of the UK for theValencia round, where he has raced twice, and for the final round of the Championship series at Jerez. Tommy will be riding upon the Harris Moto 2 bike for the CEV series thanks to his loyal sponsor SGA Racing who has stepped up to make the ride possible. Also stepping up is Tommy’s devoted sponsor Cortech leathers who has made him a set of leathers just for the final two rounds overseas.
Tommy and his mother Carrie spent the Indianapolis Moto GP weekend networking for potential opportunities for the young rider; this is where Dorna helped facilitate the rider and team match up. Although Tommy finished out his 2011 AMA season with a win at New Jersey Motorsports Park, he is still a free agent looking for a ride after he did not renew his contract with Graves Motorsports. Although Tommy is excited to take his racing overseas, he would still like to stay in the United States and win the 600cc Championship before moving on.
