2009 Honorable Mention
14 year old Conner Blevins started racing motocross
when he was five years old. It wasn’t until he was 10 that he found road racing and decided that he was having more fun on the track than in the dirt. In his first year of road racing, he won a championship and he’s been winning championships ever since. Christopher Corder, President of CMRA says “It’s like this kid doesn’t know what a break is, his corner speed is phenomenal and he never gets off the throttle.” Conner rode an RS 85 for CMRA Endurance races this year while also riding his 125 and 250. Next Moto Champion really focuses on 150cc and under which is where he qualifies for Honorable mention from winning on the RS 85. His biggest accomplishment for the year and an accomplishment that I feel should be recognized across the country is his 2nd place overall finish with CMRA. CMRA is the largest local club level racing organization in the US. Conner had to beat 128 Expert level riders and finished 2nd behind a rider who could race in an extra class, the vet class that Conner could not compete in. Knowing that some of the best riders in the country race with CMRA, you have to recognize this accomplishment as a huge win and realize that your looking at a future world champion.
